Highlights from an Exciting Toronto Market Week & SHOW TO
Posted by Thomas Wood on 26th Aug 2024
As the dust settles from our first show in our new showroom at the Toronto International Design Center, we’re reflecting on an inspiring Toronto Market Week and our first involvement with SHOW TO. This felt like more than just a showcase; it was a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the shared passion for design that connects us all.
Embracing Warmth: Trends in Cream and Taupe
One of the most notable trends we observed was the embrace of cream and taupe tones. These soft, neutral colours have a timeless appeal, bringing a sense of calm and sophistication to any space. Our new showroom showcased how these hues can be seamlessly integrated into various design styles, from modern minimalism to classic elegance. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees commenting on how these colours resonate with the current desire for comfort and serenity in the home.
Spotlight on Seating: Eros Sand and Fawcett Chairs
In addition to the trends and standout pieces we showcased, two of our seating designs garnered significant attention: the Eros Chair in Shaggy Sand and the Fawcett Dining Chair. These pieces exemplify our commitment to merging comfort with high-end design, and they were a big hit with attendees.
The Eros Chair - Shaggy Sand captivated visitors with its plush, inviting texture and sleek silhouette. This chair, upholstered in a soft, shaggy sand fabric, is the epitome of cozy elegance. Its neutral tone fits perfectly with the trending cream and taupe palettes, making it a versatile addition to any room. What truly stood out was how the Eros Chair – Shaggy Sand balances luxurious comfort with a modern design aesthetic, offering a perfect spot to unwind while enhancing the overall ambiance of the space. Plenty of attendees stopped by just to experience the comfort.
The Fawcett Dining Chair – Taupe Boucle also received much praise, especially for its refined taupe boucle upholstery. This chair is not just about looks; it’s designed with ergonomics in mind, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. The Fawcett chair’s clean lines and sophisticated fabric make it an ideal choice for those looking to elevate their dining area with a touch of understated luxury. Attendees loved how these chairs seamlessly blend style with function, making them a perfect fit for both contemporary and classic interiors.
The Nova Stump and Nova Drift: Practical Curves with Natural Elegance
Among the standout pieces in our collection were the Nova Stump and Nova Drift End Tables. These unique, nature-inspired designs drew a lot of attention, and it’s easy to see why. Each Nova Stump is a work of art, capturing the raw beauty of natural wood while offering versatility as a side table, stool, or decorative accent. Attendees were particularly impressed by the craftsmanship and organic texture of these pieces, which embody the perfect blend of form and function.
Dreamy Additions: The Faye and Julia Beds
Our Faye and Julia beds also turned heads, and for good reason. These beds are the epitome of style and comfort, designed to be the centerpiece of any bedroom. The Faye bed, with its soft curves and plush upholstery, exudes a luxurious yet inviting feel. Meanwhile, the Julia bed’s clean lines and tailored look offer a modern touch without sacrificing warmth. Both designs speak to the current trend of creating personal sanctuaries at home, where rest and relaxation take center stage.
Looking Forward: A Bright Future for Retailers and Designers
Beyond the beautiful products on display, there was a palpable sense of forward momentum at the show. Retailers are finally moving through the last of their pandemic stock, clearing the way for fresh, exciting inventory. With interest rates on a hopeful downward trend, there’s a renewed energy in the air. Designers, too, are feeling the buzz, with increased interest in new projects as homeowners and businesses alike look to refresh their spaces.
For us at Style In Form, this optimism is contagious. We’re excited to see how the trends and pieces from Toronto Market Week & SHOW TO will shape the future of interior design. As always, we remain committed to bringing you the best in style, comfort, and quality—because your spaces deserve nothing less.
